More and different but the same

“Evolution” by Safely Endangered. I’m going to try and stop at the third panel.

I don’t usually address you all directly. When I was a kid if you wanted to tell people something you had to ride a horse through the snow to their house. That’s not true at all – I had a BBS and it was a lot like this website except for only one person could be on at a time. As long as no one needed the phone.

I had hopes but no expectations when starting this site. I knew I would shirk marketing duties and was prepared to send out article after article into the void. Things turned out better than expected. The site picked up steam, helped some people find games they enjoy and some developers got worthy games out to a very slightly wider audience.

If you’ve noticed the site releasing few articles this past week it’s because I’ve been reading hundreds of submissions looking for appropriately grizzled (in spirit) gamers to join the quest to uncover hidden gems. I’m not done reading and will add quality voices as I work through the submissions but next week you’ll start to see some results. Fine wordsmiths are testing and reviewing new games as I type and I hope they find an audience.

I’m especially excited to cover games that fit our niche but that I didn’t feel right reviewing. You can stretch your personal tastes but if a game is too far out of your comfort zone it starts to feel like an unfair review. Each writer has a core overlap so we know they know what they’re talking about but also tendrils reaching out wider than I ever could on my own.

Thank you. Hope you enjoy the bigger and better but still the same site next week.
